Assistant Primary II Teacher

Mary

Hi there! My name is Ms. Mary and I am a native Vermonter from the vibrant city of Winooski. Growing up in Winooski was fun for us, our parents sent us to local, private schools, and encouraged autonomy, and an active, screen-free upbringing. My younger sister and I spent a lot of time biking, hiking, sledding, swimming, boating, and playing sports in our neighborhood, the mountains, or on Lake Champlain. My mom was an avid baker, my father an antique and political memorabilia collector, and both are musicians. Due to their variety of hobbies, I developed a deep appreciation for music, arts, and culture. This inclination led to participation in numerous musical arrangements from elementary school all the way through my twenties, one degree in Cultural Anthropology and one in Psychology. To the GMM school and community I bring with me 15+ years of professional experience in education, and childcare, across diverse age groups, settings, and needs. I enjoy connecting with students and their families, like to learn about their interests, and promote meaningful learning experiences with an emphasis on creativity, natural environment teaching, wellness, empathy, and being part of a community. I look forward to seeing you soon!
